Out of Surgery

    Well Chase is all out of surgery and everything went really well. He is still pretty knocked out from it and looks like he is hooked up to every device imaginable. They have to monitor his heart very closely tonight as they had to completely stop his heart during the 4ish hours of surgery, then restart it before sealing him back up. Most of the tubes and lines should be slowly taken out over the next couple days. He has tubes to help him breath, tubes to drain extra fluid from around his heart, pace maker lines to his heart, and 4 iv lines for drugs.

Into Surgery!

             
           Chase here just before going into surgery. You can see on his legs he is all tagged up and ready to go. We met with the surgeon and the anesthesiologist just before to go over things. He went into Pre-Op at 7:30am and they set him up with IVs and all his tubes and medicine. The RN came back out about 9:30 to tell us they just actually started the procedure, so he has about 3-4 hours of actual surgery now.....

Doctor Visit To Set Date for Surgery!

Just waiting for Chase's doctors appointment...... So we finally were able to meet with the doctor and go over surgery stuff, but truthfully they didn't tell us anything new........ But we set a date of January 31 for surgery at 7:30am!

6 months old!

Chase just had his six month check up and is doing pretty great! He weighs 12lbs 10 oz. and is 24 1/2 inches long. He also got a good handful (7) of shots today and is a surprisingly great mood considering that! We will meet with the heart surgeon on Friday morning to go over everything and to get a date for his surgery (hopefully the very end of this month or the very beginning of this next month).  Melissa's parents will be flying in then to help us out with everything here for a while too which will be great. We also having some amazing friends here to help support us, especially one family who have adopted two children with Down's Syndrome. They have been an amazing support and resource to us and are very blessed to have them in our lives.

 He is a very happy kid also!
